In Japan, we use a specific paper called WASHI for writing with Sumi
and Fudé. Washi is a soft paper not ordinarily written on with
(hard-tip) pen-and-ink. You can write of course on a western style hard
paper; however, in order to get a touch of art, it's better to try to
buy Washi.
